The Featured Speaker of the
2010 Fort
Atkinson Regional Science Fair
is
Dr. Mary Linton

Mary Linton is an ecologist and wetland biologist from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. She studies the amphibians, turtles and insects of wetlands. The population biology of ephemeral wetlands, or wetlands that dry in late summer or fall then refill in fall or spring, is her particular passion. There are very few things she loves more than a day mucking about in a rich wetland.
Dr. Linton taught college biology for 20 years before starting her own company to train others to understand and monitor aquatic resources. Her ecological articles have appeared in Evolution, Ecology, Evolutionary Ecology, Canadian Entomology, Herpetological Review, American Naturalist, and the Proceedings of the Indiana Academy of Sciences, as well as popular magazines. Her poetry has appeared in Appalachia, Aethlon, Blueline, Builder, Country Feedback Magazine, Poetry Motel, and Seeding the Snow.
